President Museveni Joins Big Fix Holy Spirit Global Conference in Kampala, Stresses Production, Unity and African Prosperity

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Saturday joined thousands of Christians at the Big Fix Holy Spirit Global Conference at Miracle Centre Cathedral grounds in Rubaga, Kampala, where he delivered a message linking faith, increased production and continental economic integration.

The seven-day gathering, running from September 21 to 27, 2026, is hosted by Pastors Robert and Jessica Kayanja of Robert Kayanja Ministries. It has drawn believers, pastors and delegates from Uganda, across Africa and beyond for worship, prayer, teachings on the Holy Spirit, spiritual restoration and wisdom. International ministers including Dr. Paul Enenche of Nigeria have already ministered, with others such as Pastor Benny Hinn and Dr. Kenneth Copeland among those expected or featured in the programme. Daily sessions run from morning into the evening amid lively choirs, dancers and colourful umbrellas sheltering the large outdoor crowds.

In his address and subsequent statement, Museveni said he was pleased to participate and thanked the Kayanjas for building a rich international network that brings people together to share ideas, build relationships and strengthen one another. He specifically commended Pastor Robert Kayanja for extending ministry beyond preaching into practical production, wealth creation and community empowerment, highlighting agricultural initiatives in Karamoja and Kiryandongo as valuable contributions to livelihoods.

The President welcomed the call for greater African and East African integration, describing a united African market as critical for producers and the prosperity of the people. He has long argued that Uganda’s internal market is too small and that regional and continental free trade arrangements are essential for surplus production to find buyers and drive shared growth.

Museveni also expressed support for a newly formed pastors’ SACCO (Savings and Credit Cooperative Organisation) at the conference and pledged Shs 2 billion toward the initiative. He framed the support as encouragement for people to work together, engage in production and create wealth—consistent with his repeated appeals to religious leaders to guide congregations toward economic empowerment alongside spiritual growth.

Attendees described the President’s presence as a meaningful intersection of national leadership and faith. The conference atmosphere combined energetic worship with discussions that touched on both spiritual restoration and practical development, including meetings among international delegates on strategies for spiritual and economic progress.

The Big Fix event, postponed earlier from June due to an Ebola outbreak, continues through Sunday, September 27. Organisers have presented it as a platform for Holy Spirit ministry, healing, teaching and addressing forms of brokenness, while also fostering networks that extend into production and community initiatives.

Museveni’s participation underscores a recurring theme in his engagements with religious leaders: that spiritual insight and practical economic action—especially increased production and access to larger markets—can reinforce each other for the benefit of Uganda and Africa.
